Dvir’s expertise includes patent portfolio strategy, drafting and prosecution of high-tech patent applications, freedom-to-operate and patentability studies, as well as handling corporate IP matters and IP transactions. He also counsels clients on open source licensing, design patents, trademarks, and trade secrets. 

Dvir drafted and prosecuted over a thousand patents worldwide for start-ups, academia, and multibillion-dollar companies, across a wide range of technological areas: computer software, artificial intelligence, electronics, communications, medical devices,  mechanics, aviation, and more.

Among his prominent clients are IBM, the Technion, the Hebrew University, Weizmann Institute, the Trendlines and Alon MedTech incubators with many of their portfolio companies, and many start-ups.

Among other accomplishments, Dvir orchestrated the IP protection for many aspects of IBM’s Watson cognitive supercomputer, as well as for core technologies of companies such as Waze (acquired by Google), Cognigo (acquired by NetApp), Saifun Semiconductors (acquired by Spansion), Oridion Medical (acquired by Covidien), Cytegic (acquired by Mastercard), and others. 

Most recently, Dvir was founding partner at Geyra Gassner Kesten. Previously, Dvir was partner at the IP department of S. Friedman & Co. 

Dvir received his law degree from Tel-Aviv University, and holds a B.Sc. in Computer Science (Summa Cum Laude) from Clark University in Massachusetts. He is a licensed Attorney at Law and Patent Attorney.
